What to expect in the upcoming weeks!

We have an exciting program set for you guys here at Dark Athletics! For the next 8 weeks we are going to be doing a Strength Cycle which will focus on the following areas:

  • Front Squats
  • Bench Press
  • Deadlifts
  • Pull Ups
  • Handstand Push Ups
  • Rowing
  • Box Jumps

In this new cycle, we are switching our focus to heavier Front Squats, Deadlifts, Bench Press, and some weighted gymnastic movements that will get us through the end of August, beginning of September. The focus will be on gaining strength and muscle endurance in our drive and pull. Don’t worry; we will have some Olympic lifting mixed into the workouts. Also, we will provide plenty of scaling options for everyone to make progress.

This upcoming week we will find our 1 rep maxes in the 3 lifts as well as max reps or times in the other areas. The goal is to set a base stat so that we have a foundation to build upon.

Don’t forget Bring a Friend Wednesday!

Wednesday we have a really fun (sort of long) Partner workout for you guys and your friends! It’s a pretty simple set up, but I think it will be a great representation of what we are trying to do moving forward and getting you guys in the best shape possible!

This week, we have a couple of AMRAP workouts, a multiple rounder, a chipper and the fun partner workout.

Monday’s should be pretty quick for advanced athletes, feel free to push it to the limits on Monday! Tuesday’s workout will be a bit of conditioning and a grinder as far as how many rounds there are. Wednesday is a fun partner workout and Thursday is back to Strength and Skill with some bench press and Finally Friday we will get the big boys their day in the sun with some Heavy Deadlifts and a quick AMRAP. Some bodybuilding to really round out the day.

Saturday will be a fun warm up followed by the crushing blow of MurderFit! Make sure you RSVP to 7 or 8 so that we know you are coming!
